Spotify is introducing audiobooks on its platform, and what better way to announce it than with… more songs?

Audiobooks and music have more in common than just audio frequencies. They contain stories. 

 By using Spotify's unique genre database along with its new audiobook library, we'll match the stories in songs with those found in books, which users will then be able to unlock by singing a snippet of a song.

Thanks to Google's melody recognition technology, all users have to do is sing the song of their choice into the app and an audiobook containing a similar theme to the song will be unlocked.

Billboards containing Spotify's unique QR code both tell passersby a story and allow them to scan so that they can unlock a free audiobook with their very own vocals.

Whether through billboards, the experiential truck, the app or through social, users will have the opportunity to sing their hearts out.
